Cross Straits Symposium

Cross Straits Symposium (CSS) / Fall Seminar

The Cross Straits Symposium (CSS) or Fall Seminar is an academic-focused program held during the fall season at the postgraduate level. Unlike cultural seminars, CSS is centered around academic and research-oriented topics, providing a platform for students and faculty from Kyushu University (Japan), Pusan National University (South Korea), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (Malaysia) to collaborate on research projects and discuss cutting-edge developments in various fields. The seminar is hosted in person on a rotating basis by each of the four partner universities, offering participants the opportunity to experience different academic environments.

Why You Should Join the CSS?

  • Research Collaboration: Engage in meaningful research discussions and collaborative projects with peers and faculty from four leading universities, fostering academic growth and innovation.

  • International Academic Exposure: Experience different academic settings as the symposium is hosted in turn by each partner university, expanding your understanding of research practices across Japan, South Korea, China, and Malaysia.

  • Advanced Learning Opportunities: Delve into specialized academic and research topics relevant to your field, enhancing your expertise and providing valuable insights for your postgraduate studies.

  • Professional Networking: Build relationships with fellow researchers, academics, and professionals from four countries, creating connections that can support your future career and research endeavors.

By participating in the Cross Straits Symposium / Fall Seminar, postgraduate students can deepen their academic knowledge, collaborate internationally on research, and gain exposure to diverse educational and research methodologies across Asia.
