Welcome to the\u00a0<\/span>Materials Engineering Laboratory, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UTM.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This lab is one of the \u201cLab of Excellence\u201d in the university with a primary aim to excel in the field of materials science and engineering. Our staffs are fully active in research and teaching ranging from failure analysis, corrosion and corrosion control, materials coating technology, composite materials, electronic materials and biomaterials.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Materials science is a field of study focusing on functional solids such as structural, chemical, biological, thermal, magnetic, electronic or optical. It is based on the chemistry and physics of the solid state and covers all aspects of engineering materials \u2013 metals, polymers, ceramics \u2013 and combinations of these.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The lab is fully equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment for the study of materials science and engineering. We are fully committed to collaborate with the industrial sector and actively involve in consultancy work.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
