Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange – Ulam Program

Dear Researchers,
The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) is pleased to announce its new programme for incoming researchers: The Ulam Programme .
The objective of The Ulam Programme is to help foreign researchers to develop their career by intensifying international mobility as well as will allowing them to establish scientific cooperation with excellent host institutions in Poland.
 
Activities to be carried out during the scholarship may include:
  • conducting research and/or development work
  • post-doctoral training
  • obtaining materials for scientific work or publication
  • conducting didactic classes at the host centre

Visits within the programme can last from 6 to 24 months. The Programme provides financing for a scholarship covering both the Beneficiary’s allowance costs in relation to their stay at a host institution, in an amount of PLN 10,000 a month, and a mobility allowance.

In order to submit an application, one shall register an application in the ICT system of the Agency and send electronically the completed application together with the necessary attachments. The call for proposals is open from 22nd January to 23rd April 2019.

Hitachi Scholarship Research Support Program for 2019

The Hitachi Research Support Program for 2019 is now open for application.
The application should be submitted to the Office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) before October 11, 2018. 

The Hitachi Global Foundation aims to contribute to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by solving social issues through the promotion of Science and Technology. The Foundation carries out the Hitachi Scholarship Research Support Program that offers research support grants to the faculty members who wish to conduct collaborative researches that contribute to solving social issues at universities or research institutions in Japan.

Contents of the grants are the followings.
(1) Maintenance allowance: 6,000 yen per year
(2) Travel allowance: from 80,000 yen – 150,000 yen

 

Application must be endorsed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International). Kindly submit the completed application documents to Miss Leilawati Mokhtar, Office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) at mleilawati@utm.my before October 15, 2018.

NWO Domain Applied and Engineering Sciences (TTW) invites applications for its perspective call. This supports collaborations between businesses, public organisations and end users working on innovative and technological projects that address research areas set out in the top sectors high tech systems and materials, life sciences and health, agrifood, chemistry, creative industry, energy, horticulture, logistics and water.

Applications must be submitted by at least three different institutes or universities and the entire chain of end-users, including companies and universities of applied science. The following persons may act as main applicants: assistant, associate and full professors with a tenured position at Dutch universities or university medical centres, KNAW and NWO institutes, the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI), the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen, DUBBLE beamline at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble, Naturalis Biodiversity Center and the Advanced Research Centre for NanoLithography.

Grants are worth up to 4,000,000 Euro For Fund Programme & 750,000 Euro For Individual Project.

Nippon Sheet Glass Oct 2017

Nippon Sheet Glass Foundation for Materials Science and Engineering invites the researchers to apply our Overseas Research Grant this year !

As a general principle, any research project on Science and Technology of Inorganic Materials is covered. Fundamental and application researches on amorphous and crystalline solid materials having a potential to be applied to photonics, electronics, high temperature, structure, etc. are typical subjects for the research grant.

1. Scope
As a general principle, any research project on Science and Technology of Inorganic Materials is covered. Fundamental and applied researches on amorphous and crystalline solid materials having potential to be applied to photonics, electronics, bio and medical technologies, etc. are typical subjects for the research grant.
2. Amount of Grants
An amount of US$2,000~6,000 is provided for one research project with the term of 12 to 24 months (from January, 2018 through December, 2018 — December, 2019).
3. Applications
Each applicant is requested to describe the proposal in English using “Application for Research Grant” form of 4 pages, and submit it to NSG Foundation until October 16, 2017. It is also requested to append a recommendation letter signed by Chancellor ( or Deputy Chancellor in charge of academy affairs ), a copy of curriculum vitae of the applicant, 5 pages in maximum, and “Applicant_Info.xls”. The maximum number of reprints of representative research papers that can be attached is five, but full pages are allowed only for two papers. Only first page can be attached for another three papers. Please pay attention that pages exceed the page limitation will NOT be sent to Evaluation Committee. CVs of co-researchers are NOTrequired.
NSG Foundation only accepts Word file of Application Form, “Applicant_Info.xls”, PDF files of the recommendation letter, the CV, and the reprints of the papers sent by e-mail. Please pay attention that the maximum size of our e-mail system is 5MB. Application number will be sent to applicant within three working days as confirmation of the acceptance.
4. Selection and Presentation
Evaluation Committee Meeting of NSG Foundation is to be held in December, 2017 in Tokyo to select the research grant items. Based on the selection by Evaluation Committee, NSG Foundation will decide the research grant items to be granted after the meeting. The research grant fund will be presented until January, 2018, so that the granted research will be able to start early in 2018.
Note that the researchers who received this research grant after 2015 are ineligible to apply for the overseas research grant this year.
