Ir. Wan Khairuddin received the B.Eng degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Tasmania University, Australia and both M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees specializing in avionics from Cranfiled University, UK. He is a Professor and head of Aeronautical Laboratory with Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He has more than 25 years of engineering experience as an academic, researcher and practicing engineer. His primary research and academics focuses are in the area of rocket propulsion, avionics and aircraft instrumentation. He hold 5 patents, has published over 100 technical papers and proceeding articles and is the author of 4 book chapters. He is a co-writer of 4 books. Ir. Wan Khairuddin was presented with 1985 Shell Australia award for best subject performance and 1992 GE Avionics award for best M.Sc. thesis.
