Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), through the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FKM), marked a historic milestone with the graduation of the first cohort of the CAMPUS Asia Plus Dual Degree Master’s Programme under the Energy and Environmental Science and Technology (EEST) initiative. The achievement was celebrated in conjunction with the CAMPUS Asia Plus EEST Reunion Symposium FY2025, held on 24 March 2026 at Kyushu University, Japan. The symposium brought together partner universities from across Asia, including Kyushu University, Pusan National University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and UTM.

It served as a platform for academic exchange, international collaboration and knowledge sharing, with students presenting their experiences from programmes such as Summer School, dual degree mobility and the Spring Seminar.

FKM proudly celebrated four graduates from the pioneer cohort: Wan Emily Shazelyn, Norsyaqim Iqbal, Sakamoto Takumu and Kawano Ryodai. Their participation reflected the programme’s emphasis on academic excellence, cultural exposure, interdisciplinary learning and global collaboration, in line with its mission of “Connecting Asia to the World.”

The event also featured academic presentations, student forums, discussions and the EEST conferment ceremony. Representing UTM, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Zaini Ahmad, Dean of FKM, delivered the official greeting address, reaffirming the university’s commitment to internationalization and strategic academic partnerships.

The pioneer cohort officially graduated on 25 March 2026, marking the successful implementation of a high-impact international dual degree programme. This milestone lays a strong foundation for future cohorts and further strengthens regional collaboration, student mobility and academic excellence across Asia.
