Vacancy for a postgraduate position (PhD/MSc Researcher) UTM Johor Bahru, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

This is a multidisciplinary experimental research work focusing on developing a combustion-based synthesis process for producing carbon nanotubes.

Who can apply?

• • BSc Mechanical Engineering or other related courses with CGPA > 3.10 (will enroll as MSc student)
  • BSc Mechanical Engineering or other related courses with CGPA > 3.65 (will enroll as PhD student)
  • MSc Mechanical Engineering or other related courses with CGPA > 3.50 (will enroll as normal PhD student)

The successful candidate will enroll full-time with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UTM, Skudai. Majority of the research work will be conducted at High-Speed Reacting Flow Laboratory (HiREF) UTM.

The candidate should have:

• • Interest in research related to combustion and material science.
  • Ability to work independently to design and develop test rig – which includes design, fabrication, and commissioning works (training will be provided).
  • Experience performing analysis using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) such as Ansys Fluent is a plus.
  • Proficient in English (Written and Spoken)
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, independent and hardworking
  • Open for Malaysian only
  • Expected start date: September – November 2022 (negotiable)
