Prof. Dr. Mazlan Abdul Wahid

BEng (Aeronautical), MSc (Combustion) (Leeds), PhD (Buffalo)

Mazlan Abd Wahid is a Professor in Department of Thermofluid, Faculty of Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering. He received his Bachelor degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida, Master Degree from Universiti of Leeds, Yorkshire, England, UK. while obtained PhD Degree from State University of New York, Buffalo, New York, USA.

His current research focus is on Combustion, Energy and Heat Transfer, Sustainable low emission combustion, High speed reacting flow, Sustainable energy conversion and Heat transfer enhancement

Dr Mohd Fairus Mohd Yasin

BSc (Engineering), PhD (Cambridge)

Mohd Fairus Mohd Yasin is a senior lecturer in Department of Thermofluid, Faculty of Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering. He received his Bachelor degree from University of Wisconsin, Madison, United States and completed his PhD from University of Cambridge, United Kingdom in 2014.

He specialized in the reacting flow modelling using OpenFOAM and has published research papers in reputable journals and conferences. Dr. Fairus is also a reviewer for Applied Energy journal.

Prof Madya Dr. Aminuddin Saat

BEng (Mechanical), MSc (Automotive), PhD (Leeds)

Aminuddin Saat is a senior lecturer in the School of Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Thermofluid in the Faculty of Engineering. He received his bachelor’s degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Coventry University, United Kingdom, and his PhD from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.

His current research interests include combustion and flame studies, burning rates and flame propagation, flame instability, combustion in aerosols and sprays, and optical diagnostics. Studies in thermodynamics as well as heat transfer.

Dr Natrah Kamaruzaman

BEng (Mechanical), MSc (Mechanical), PhD (UTM)

Natrah Kamaruzaman is a senior lecturer in Department of Thermofluid, Faculty of Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, She received her Bachelor degree from University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa, Japan, while obtained her Master and PhD Degrees both from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

Expertise in research analysis, new concept development, simulation and validation. Broad knowledge in micro cooling, heat transfer, fluid dynamics and thermal engineering.

Dr Mohsin Mohd Sies

BSc. (Nuclear), MSc (Mechanical), PhD (UTM)

Mohsin Mohd Sies is a senior lecturer in Department of Thermofluid, Faculty of Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, He received his Bachelor Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, USA, Master degree from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, while completing his PhD Study in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

His expertise is in High-speed combustion phenomena such as Detonation waves, Chemical kinetics, Turbulent combustion phenomena, Practical and fundamental aspects of combustion, Thermodynamics and energy studies and Computational methods in Engineering.

Dr Norikhwan Hamzah

BSc (Engineering), MSc (Thermal Power), PhD (UTM)

Norikhwan Hamzah is a senior lecturer in the Department of Thermofluid, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UTM. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, United States in 2007, his Master’s degree in Thermal Power from Cranfield University, United Kingdom in 2015, and completed his PhD from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2020. His current research interest includes experimental works on advance material synthesis using combustion processes.

Ir Dr Norazila Othman

BEng (Aeronautics), MSc (Mechanical), PhD (Tokyo)

Norazila Othman is a senior lecturer at UTM’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Thermofluid. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Aeronautics from University Teknologi Malaysia in 2009, a Master of Science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2011, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Tokyo Metropolitan University in 2016. Her present research interests include biodiesel, microgas turbines, and biomass gasification technology.
