Abstract :
The life cycle of an airplane requires the adherence to various rules and regulations. The main objective is to ensure continuous safety of operation. Thus to obtain this, the airplane has to be airworthiness. Various governing bodies regulate the process of airplane airworthiness. In Malaysia, this responsibility is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Civil Aviation, Airworthiness Sector. In Europe, this responsibility is under EASA – the European Aviation Safety Agency. This talk covers the airworthiness regulations produced by EASA in airplane design, production and maintenance. The topics include the EASA regulation structure, basic regulation, initial airworthiness and continuing airworthiness.
