PREFACE

This special issue, No 26 of the Jurnal Mekanikal December 2008 contains a selection of papers published in the
Proceedings of 2nd Regional Conference on Vehicle Engineering and Technology held in July 2008 at Kuala Lumpur.
The theme of the conference is “Enhancing Transport Technology for Regional Competitiveness”.

In particular, 5 papers from automotive, 5 paper from marine and 5 papers from aeronautics areas were selected
and extended by their respective authors.

Finally, I would like to thank all the authors who submitted manuscripts for this special issue.
